That is really a great cover. But it has a completely own style which is not only because of the instrumentation but also because of the emotions that are transferred through the song. I listened to this now 5 times or so in a row and I can't get enough. Great job! :)

I like th combination of 80s synth and the funky tune that goes with it. Especially until 0:30 I really got into the track. The addition of the funky jazzy bass and tune that sets in afterwards fits nicely in although I think the background synth that plays pretty much the same rythm over and over is a bit too much in the focus, so this may be getting a little repetative. I am talking about the short attack pad-synth (?) that sets in at 0:30. Other than that I think the song is perfect and really reminds me of the music of an introductary credit song or menu theme. Good job :)

I think this is a nice first half or third of a very soothing, relaxing song. It is a bit repetative although this is well hidden through the use of percussion and some sweeps. I think the sweep that introduces the drums could have an additionaly crash at the end or percussion or something that marks better that the drums are coming. Nevertheless, a nice tune, I think you should add some variety and make it longer. Keep it up :)

While I don't know the show, I really like this song. I love the noir-jazz style and that it is somewhat minimalistic. Only point of critique for me is that the drums don't sound to me as if they were recorded in the same room as the sax. Of course, they probably were not recorded in the same room, but I think it should sound like that. My favourite part were the last 58 seconds, as there were no drums and the song was calmer than before. Great job, though, I really could imagine this playing as the intro of a Noir detective series or game. Keep it up :)

Densle responds:

Thank you for you comment and feed back. But I do agree with your point as I am still working on my mixing skills.

But thank you very much.

The ending made me laugh, really :D

I like this song very much, although I think The Old Factory of dreams is better. I don't agree with the previous review; I think the synth at the start is basic, yes, but nevertheless fitting. Only thing is, that it is too prominent throughout the song, which is probably because it is not so well embedded in the mix and too much on the left pan so it sticks really out of the song, whcih makes it annoying after a while. The melody is soothing and relaxing and overall pretty nice. An interlude in the song could make it more interesting, though. Keep it up. :)

Angelsosa responds:

Thanks, thanks a lot, really.

This is pretty neat, I love everything except the Saw at 0:30 and 1:50 because it really makes it sound like Skrillex, which would be nice if I was 10 years younger. I understand that you wanted to make an ironic dubstep song and I think that is a full success. What I really liked was the part from 0:50- 1:20, I think that was really nice material to make a good industrial song. For what it is, nice job!

Ass tearing story ;-;

Is it WillFromAfar or a certain Captain everybody knows and loves? Anyway, nice track m8, very memeful.

TheBetterAudioPortal responds:

Good catch. It is indeed WillFromAfar!

Very nice track, sounds like a soundtrack or classic piece of music turned chiptune. I get really nostalgic listening to this song as I last heard a music piece like this back in the days when I played Dragon Warrior. This piece really reminds me of the music of DW as it also sounds like classic music but with chiptune instead of physical music instruments. The arrangement is really nice and varied, same for the melody. I especially love the triols in the second half of the song, really make the song more personal, I do not know really why, but that is my impression. Nice to listen to some new music. Great job, I'd love to hear more like that. :)

P.S.: Also nice background story. I suppose the machine is making the song, if I interprete the morse code correctly? "You are listening to the machine. We are still here"

Calamaistr responds:

Thank you, most of my work is a counterpoint manner of classical music 'with chiptune as its medium so you are correct in considering it classical. :) As for the story the morse code is a bit of a fourth wall breaker, it was referenced in "dream of the machine - 07 Fourthwall". It means the fiction connects and communicates with the reader, watcher or listener directly, the fourth wall is an imaginary wall between the public and the stage and when its broken it means that the public is made part of the story in some way. :) To 'the machine' in DOTM 07 i broke the fourth wall stating this world (the real world youre in) is part of this story quite literally, i wanted to create the idea that this was not fiction but the machine actually speaking to the listener, telling of an ancient past and future. Wich i perpetuated with this final album concerning a year that we would all become concious to this history. Ofcourse wether its actual or fiction can never be proven or disproven. I think thats the grace of this story. It stands firmly as a possibility. So yeah with the morse code i wanted to strenghten that fourth wall breaking, to have "the machine" speak to the listener/reader even beyond the soundtrack.

Thank you for your interest. -cal.
