ye m8 sounds good 2 me but not like jpop. but then again i never listened to jpop so what do i know. is a bit repretetive. and i dont like the lead synth. rly bro, sorry, but the lead synth sounds boring af. but maybe thats the thing bout jpop. the melody is dope though. I like what you did at 0:14. panning is always nice, is used 2 little i think.
tbh wouldnt listen to this more than twice because I dont like the music style but if you had arranged the track sower with other instruments I would mire the song.
dont be sad, i'm just an asshole so if thats the way you want to go i think you are fine.

Marifax responds:

Thanks for the review man! Working on the arrangement as we speak, sounds a lot less repetetive than this version. Lead synth is supposed to be dubbed with a vocal line, so that will also spice things up a bit. Nothing ill-willed in honesty, appreciate your feedback!

Thanks,
-M

First off, the song is nice, the composition is thought through and it's overall a nice listeing experience. The synths and isntruments are well mixed and the melody is really calming and relaxing. I really like the voice lead.

Your singing is also good, although you need to work on keeping the long notes stable.

"I float among the clouds,
I play among the stars" <--- at this part you really had problems holding the high notes stable; there was much unwanted vibrato but with practice this can be solved. But you mostly hit the right notes and there were only 1 or 2 occasions where there was a little disonance but again: practice solves everything. Impressive voice btw.

I don't know if you have the resources, but it would also be nice to mix your singing better; maybe also some effects like reverb or a flanger. Would have given the song a new edge I think.

Overall a really nice song, was nice listening to it.

Maverickmode responds:

Thanks for a well thought out and helpful review. I agree, I definitely need to work on keeping the pitch stable on long notes. Truth is I kind of marathon recorded this all at once, and I didn't feel like doing any of it over, but I didn't realize quite the extent to which I was wavering on notes. I'll probably fix it some time soon.
I'm definitely going to change some things up in the mix (I realized that the vocals were just a tad too loud for the rest of the track), and I'll give it a listen with reverb on and see if I like it. I usually add reverb to my vocals anyway, not sure why I didn't this time.

I really like the build up and the intro; everything really fits. However, the drop is not really my thing. At some points it sounded too empty for me, only the voice lead and the heavy bass did not really filled the void imho. The rest I really liked, especially the more dance-like parts at the beginning and the end. The mix was also very good.
Overall I can say that I like the song, although after I heard the air horn, I was not sure if this song was a parody or something.

larrynachos responds:

Still getting my bearings with the genre. I was just trying to make a more simple but big trap song. Idk why I put the airhorn in tbh,

I like the 80's feel of this song. Has a real Miami Disco feeling to it. It is a driving, action packed song. I think it is perfectly executed and I don't see much room for improvement, other than maybe the little bridge from 2:57- 3:20, I don't like the snare, but that is just me. Other than that, genius song.

Keep it up, great job :)

Sequenced responds:

gotta follow the copy paste trend bruh

Pretty good job, nice trancy house track that invites to dream away and enjoy the rest of the winter. Very good mix and the melody is really chill. Only advice would be ( in my opinion) to make the kick less punchy. For chill house tracks I think it is better to have a softer, more bassy kick but that is my preference. Overall a very good track. Have a good and productive year 2016 :)

D-Chain responds:

Hmm i can relate to your preference brother, constructive review! -and i'll make good use of it :)
Thanks for the goodness, next wip will have that soft bassy kick you desire, aswell as i.
You to have a wonderious 2016! you deserve it :)

lol gay can i use this for audio turd fggt?

TheBetterAudioPortal responds:

No idea what that means.

Happy, whacky tune that really fits the game and the overall theme of fireworks and faire. I love the synth that starts at 0:31, it really gives the song a nice edge. Other than that it is unfortunately a little bit repetative but I guess that is not too bad as it is a theme song. So overall a really nice song, good job! :)

Lyserdigi responds:

yeah.. repetetive and short , to the point...
imho, game tunes are kinda like that... especially in these kinda of short flash games..
the tune itself has to be short enough, and highly compressed, so that it doesn't take too many megabytes space from the project. and because of the tunes looping nature, one doesn't have much "space" to compose anything too complex... and so on and so forth ^^

Nice ambient track, I like the concept, it feels like one is exploring an old destroyed chapel or sorts. Two remarks though:

1.) There is not much variation in the melody

2.) The white noise in the end is a little too loud/ a little too long. The length would be ok if it was not as loud and vice versa.

Overall a nice ambient track, though. Good job :)

Fubaka responds:

Well, there isn't supposed to be too much variation in the melody. That's kind of the point.

To each his own regarding the white noise. This is another song I've listened to hundreds of times at this point.

I hope you'll give the album a listen too. There's a lot to be heard there.

Thanks for reviewng!

This is witty and also well orechestrated I think. I really like it. Also the creativity is strong with this one ;)

w00tw00 responds:

thanks lol ;)

I love your combination of electric sounds and orchestral music. The problem I have with most "epic orechestral music" tracks is, that however original the composition might be to me 90% of them sound pretty much the same with different chord progressions. This song however, is as unique as it gets. It combines epic orchestral music with a catchy DnB-videogame track, that changes into complete epicness after 2:08. The arpeggiate harp combined with the driving tune from the first half plus the Yoi-synth really makes the second half the cherry on a musical cake of epicness, that really fits the theme of Boss music. To me this song is already one of, if not THE winner of this contest. Great job :) ( Wow I really got emotional writing this review)

Mattashi responds:

Wow thank you so much for your review SoTJake :)
There are some really awesome entries out there so far and I'm pretty sure there are many more on the way before the deadline! I don't really care about winning, it's just fun to participate in these kind of contests and hearing what everyone can come up with :) Everyone deserves 1st place for joining.

Yeah, well, I make music.
